The case of the missing pants. By Charlotte

A few days ago my mum was going out to a breakfast meeting. She was going to wear her black pants but...
her black pants were missing so I said, 'this looks like a job for detective Charlotte.' So I got my magnifying glass and said, "lets go!".  I searched and searched all over the house but I could not find the pants. But that didn't stop me from looking for them. Then I finally needed a rest.

Rugby

I was playing rugby on Saturday, I nearly scored but I didn't. I tried  my best but the other team was bigger and   fatter. They should have been in Grade 9.

Visiting Aunty Shannon

On Saturday night Shannon came to visit. And since we missed her so much we went to see her at Gran's house . When we got there we rushed out of the car and slammed the car door! Then we ran to  her bedroom. We were about to wake her up but she was already awake! So we scared her instead. Roar! We gave Shannon a huge fright. When she got dressed she had breakfast . Mmm bacon! Then we played Temple of Triva on Channel 50. So the next thing we did was watch Gnomeo and Juliet. That movie was cool ! Last of all George asked to stay the night, that was hard because it was a school day!

Today we planted some plants in the garden down the end of the school field. There were some gaps that needed to be filled up. We are going to keep checking our plants to make sure they are growing. Sometimes we will go and water them. We will make sure children keep off the garden. We loved learning about how plants can make our environment a much better place.

Making Fruit kebabs

Today we made fruit kebabs as part of our learning on writing procedures. We had to follow instructions so that our kebabs turned out correctly. Mrs Ramsey helped us with this. Thank you Mrs Ramsey.

We did some statistics on the our favourite ingredient. We found out that marshmallows were the most popular ingredient and grapes were the least favourite. The teachers liked pineapple best.

We are very good at writing procedures now. Our next challenge is to write our speeches. We will be doing this next week. Then we take them home to practise. The following week we start presenting our speeches to the class. That will be exciting.

Planting day!

Today we all planted our plants into a pot. It is now our responsibility to care for our plants. We will water them daily- but not too much. We put them outside our classroom during the day and then bring them in at the end of the day. It is important to care for plants because they give us oxygen.

The Rocky Shore

Last Wednesday Mum,Jonathan,Hope,Amy,Laura and I went to the rocky shore. We saw hermit crabs. There were lots of star fish. Mum told me that the star fish that looks like they are going to blow up are called cushion stars. Some of the rocks had white circular things on them. Mum told me that when the water is high tide and it covers the rocks they open up. Mum told me the name of them but I forgot. Then I put some water on the rocks and they opened up. Luckily I brought a container. Unfortunately I brought my crocks. My crocks kept on falling off and I kept on getting water in them, and kept on thinking that a crab was in my crocks.

Noticing detail in shells

Shells

I  found  some  shells  to  play in time.

I  see  golden   at  the  bottom  of  the  shell.

On  the  shell I  notice  cracks.

I  see  bumpy  lines  and  a  black  cave.

I  wonder  if  it  used to  have sand  in  it?

Shells

I found some shells to play in time.
Zigzagging in a line all around the shell just like zebras.

On the shell I see silver all around it.

 All spotty like a cheetah.

Through our window...

the cows

I see a cow walking and nibbling the grass. In the paddock he's swinging  his tail . He's crashing in to other cows . Shaggy and wet.

His  big round eyes looking at other cows and they have tags through their ears.
They say " Don't come near me"

The cows

I see a cow walking and nibbling the grass. In the paddock i see cows swishing their tails. Cows are running and walking on the grass. Crashing against each over. Cows walking backwards and forwards. We were staring at the cows. They were shaggy and wet.
