Diwali

Wow!!! Haikirat's mum came to show us how they celebrate Diwali. What a beautiful pattern. 

Castles

We are starting to learn about castles because we read a fairy tale that had a castle in it. We wondered what it would be like to live in a castle and wrote stories about that.

ASB Financial Literacy

Today we had a super hero from the ASB bank visit us. He taught us about the importance of saving and said it is ok to spend and to share money too. 

Wacky Hair Day

Grandparents Week

Today we had lots of our grandparents come to our classroom. We showed them some of the things we do and then they read a library book to us. Thanks to all of the Grandparents that have visited us so far and we look forward to some more visits tomorrow and Friday.

PJ Day in our classes

Wow PJ day was fabulous. We made 10 in the bed posters, we graphed our PJ colours, we sang bedtime songs, we read bedtime stories and wrote about them and we had hot chocolate with marshmellows. YUM YUM!!!

Making Music Instruments

Room 16 and 17 children have been making music instruments and played in an orchestra today. They have been very creative in their thinking. Well done everyone. 

Beautiful Singing

Brielle and Hayley shared their lovely song about mothers.  We are very proud that they could share their Chinese language with us.  I hope their families in Hong Kong and China access our blog and feel as proud as we do.

When we show Parkvale PRIDE we are going to get a tick and when we get 40 ticks we can have a PJ Day at school.
We can't wait!!!

Pic Collage

Last week we went into Rooms 2, 3 and 4 and worked with the big kids. They taught us how to do a Pic Collage on the ipads. Also they helped us learn more about the word families that we are learning about in phonics. Thanks Big Kids- we loved it.

Carpentry

Mrs Kelly got us a carpentry table so now we can use our new hammers, nails and saws to build. Cooper kept on trying with his hammering and he finally got the nail through to the other side. 

Learning together

When we share, work together and listen to each other our projects and games always work so well.

Chalk Mural

Today we worked on a mural together. It was fun working in a group. We had to share and take turns. Sometimes we had to wait but that was OK. We used chalk on the concrete. Luckily Mrs Kelly took a photo because the rain came down and washed our mural away!!

Wig Wednesday

We all wore wigs on Wednesday and we donated a gold coin. The money is going to help children with cancer. It was nice to be able to help.
