Buddy Time with Room 18

We always love buddy class time. Room 18 children listened to us read. They helped us practise our early words and spelling. They checked our learning about our vehicles and they watched that we had learnt how to jump correctly. Thanks buddies!!! We also thought Mr Miller's balloon powered car was great. 

The crows in there nest

Bing bong! the chruch bell rang loud and the crows were angry. Because the bell Was loud.

Testing our vehicles on different surfaces.

 The ramp helped the speed pick up. Here is Oliver, Joshua and Micah racing their vehicles.

 On the slide there was no friction. It sped down so fast.  My car did a flip at the end. Sebastian.

 We all liked the slide test the best, but if our car was a real one we wouldn't want it to be on a hill with no friction.

The cars were bumping against the grass blades. This stopped them from working well. 

My new toy egg

Did you know I got a toy egg? It is a penguin and his head is poking out of the top of the egg. Mum got it from a toy shop in wellington.

WALT sort

 In Room 13 we sorted the beans by colour. When we put them in a row it was much easier to see which colour row had the most beans or the least beans. We could count them easier too!

Now we have made a graph.

Making vehicles

 One, two, three, GO!!! Whose car can go the fastest. We discovered a quick push worked better than pushing down hard. The carpet caused friction and made the cars slow down. Tom Purdie's car zoomed along the table top because that was smooth.

 We are proud of our finished vehicles. We worked hard and didn't give up. We helped each other with the tricky bits.

What a flash car Tom. We all liked the detail on your car body.

Using Texture in art

We are learning about using texture in art. We used pipes, cup rimes, pipe cleaners, feathers and tubes to create texture in our dragonflies.

Names for 10

Connor knows his names for 10. Well done Connor.

Painting the Story

Charli painted a part from "Lazy Duck". We guessed that this painting was from this story. In the end Lazy Duck found out that it was best to be a busy duck. Fabulous painting Charli.

Moving to the beat

In music today Room 13 showed how they are getting so good at moving in time to the beat. What a huge improvement since the beginning of the year. Well done Room 13!!

Inflatable world

At inflatable world Alssa and I bounced on the big bouncy castle and I did flips.
