Market Day Preparation

Preparing for our big Market Day was a fabulous way to learn about selling a product. We worked with our buddy class and made posters, ipad ads, bunting and signs. We got to walk around with our buddies at playtime with sandwich boards on so that the rest of the school could see our product. Our buddies chanted the jingles they had made up and we learnt some of the words. Our buddies were the best on the radio with their jingles. On the day we made our product in a production line. We all had important jobs to do to make sure our product was made perfectly. Thank you buddy class Room 18. We loved working with you and Mrs Miller.

Capacity Relay

We started off our Weight and Capacity maths unit with a fun relay. We learnt about 1/2 and full containers.

Technology Fun

Last week we started tasting the different ingredients that could go on our product that we will sell at the market day. With our room 18 buddies we decided which ones would be best. Our next job is to make a recipe. Which base did you like best???

Ranfurly Sheild

Yesterday we had the Ranfurly Sheild and some Magpies at school. We were very excited.

Pirate Day at School

We had lots of fun today at Pirate Day. We learnt our Pirate saying- "Dead man tell no tales." Our class and our buddy class, Room 18, won the treasure because we were the best at chanting.

Dance Festival 2014

 Our Dance Festival was very exciting. We danced so well and our parents were very proud. Dressing up was lots of fun too. Our class danced with Room 22 and Room 2. Our dances were "Tramp Tramp Tramp" and "Lion Sleeps Tonight".

Tom won the Highlanders shirt!!

Yah Tom!! What a lucky boy winning the raffle for the Highlanders shirt. Congratulations to the McHardy family.

We are learning about bears!

Panda Bears eat bamboo. They leave their scent by the bamboo. They don’t like to be with other animals. They run away from them and they scratch their heads because it is itchy.

Rhythm

The Grizzly bear is a brown bear. He has black eyes. He is cute and his little black nose is cute too. He scampers down to the river on his two strong legs. He opens his big mouth and you can see his sharp teeth.

Abby- Rose

Grizzly Bears catch salmon in their jaws from the river and they eat berries from the bush. They hibernate in Winter. They wake up in Spring. They live in a remote place far away from New Zealand.

Brodie

In China Panda Bears eat bamboo. If people kill Panda Bears they will become extinct.

We have been learning that each half in the symmetrical pattern needs to be the same.

Today we started learning about making symmetrical patterns. 

We are using our patterns to learn our doubles.

Buddy Time

Buddy Time on Friday was once again lots of fun. We taught our buddies a subtraction game and then showed them how good we are getting at reading- we can read like we are talking. Then our buddies told us a little about the production that is coming up. We will get to see our buddies on stage soon. Thank you buddies, we always love you coming to Room 13.
